Subject: The Mark of Zorro
This short-lived serial produced in 1957 by Mitchell Gertz was based on The Curse of Capistrano (later known as The Mark of Zorro). Of the 15 or so short episodes that were created only 4 are known to have survived. Recently current copyright holder of Zorro, John Gertz, (son of Mitchell Gertz) authorized the production of a new full-cast audio dramatization of The Mark of Zorro by Hollywood Theater of the Ear. This production slated for release on April 1, 2011 features the voice talents of Val Kilmer (as Diego/Zorro), Ruth Livier, Elizabeth Pena, Armin Shimerman, and Meshach Taylor.
